Advent Retreat: Finding Hope in Liminal Times

Set out on your Advent journey!

Join Bishop Anna in exploring what it means to be in liminal times.

Advent has much to teach us about liminal times: the waiting, preparation, ambiguity, and hope.

Advent season is a time of inspiration for the daring needed to be incarnate people, despite the chaos and uncertainty of our world.

During the Friday evening and Saturday morning SESSIONS, we will review texts and video to explore Advent's theology.

Our use of Poetry and art will further expand its themes.

FREE TIME is on Saturday afternoon.

We will gather at Saturday sunset--as Advent begins--for a candlelit Advent vigil and Eucharist.

On Sunday morning, we will discuss some spiritual practices that might carry with us through the season.

Bishop Anna Greenwood-Lee:  Diocese of British Columbia's 14th, and first woman, Bishop.  During her 20 year as an Anglican priest, Bishop Anna has been dedicated to issues of social justice and congregational development.

She  is also a co-founder of The Wisdom Centre, a progressive community with a focus on reclaiming ancient Christian traditions, in new and innovative ways.

Musician Deb Koning: Former Music Director of St. Laurence Anglican Church in Calgary, AB.

Deb is now living in Victoria.
